Icon X-ray Systems

Fortress Technology tackles the equipment options in the most widespread food and packaging application scenarios.
X-ray can detect both metallic and non-metallic contaminants such as stone, glass, high-density plastic and bone. On the other hand,
x-ray cannot be used on free-falling products because of the inconsistent density within the falling product stream.
Before choosing the best detection system for your application, several things need to be carefully considered, like what type of food product being inspected? What size and type of the foreign contaminant to be detected? And what type of packaging is being used and is there a metallic liner?
In fact, metal detectors and X-ray inspection offer complementary strengths, meaning it can often be beneficial to employ both techniques – such as combining a metal detector to scan raw materials with an X-ray scanner inspection system to guarantee final product integrity.

Icon X-ray
The Icon X-ray system is purposed for inspecting products for contaminant materials such as metal, ceramic, glass, and high-density plastics. Contaminated packs are rejected with an efficient, integrated reject system. The Icon has been designed, engineered, and constructed to high food grade engineering standards. Food X-ray systems can be better suited for finished products made with metallic packaging such as juice pouches and snack bags. X-ray systems can “see through” all types of packaging, including metallic packaging, to generate images of the contents inside to ensure they are contaminant free.
